The temperature programmed reduction (TPR) of Ce0.5Zr0.5O2 mixed oxide is investigated by using 1H2/Ar and 2H2/Ar mixtures as reducing agents. For low temperature reduction (below 700 K), no differentiation of the TPR profiles between the two reductants is observed. This suggests that activation of the reducing agents, e.g. surface steps, is not rate limiting this reduction process under the TPR conditions. Abstract
