A short stratigraphic section outcropping in the Aurisina area records ramp settings where rudists, foraminifers and other taxa contribute in oroginating three lithosomes. The first two originated through the activity of K-strategist foraminifers, which establish the substrate for the r-strategist radiolitids. The youngest lithosome is included in a frame of K-selection, where corals and corallinaceans algae produce the hard substrate for hippuritid-radiolitid congregations. Foraminifers and rudists indicate that this evolution takes place during Santonian-Campanian.

Abstract
A short stratigraphic section outcropping in the Aurisina area records ramp settings where rudists, foraminifers and other taxa contribute in oroginating three lithosomes. The first two originated through the activity of K-strategist foraminifers, which establish the substrate for the r-strategist radiolitids. The youngest lithosome is included in a frame of K-selection, where corals and corallinaceans algae produce the hard substrate for hippuritid-radiolitid congregations. Foraminifers and rudists indicate that this evolution takes place during Santonian-Campanian.File in questo prodotto:
