The deterministic rolling is examined in the most dangerous situations for the safety of the ship. The case of a beam sea is investigated in detail with particular regard to the nonlinear features of the motion. The influence on stability of a longitudinal sea is accounted for by means of a simple but reliable model. Finally, suggestions for future developments of the research are given.
