This paper addresses rational conflict between immigrants and natives. Social conflict length is modelled as a war of attrition where prizes are high wage jobs. Every worker suffers a loss that is private information until low salary positions are filled as losers concede. Within this framework we can apply a theorem by Bulow and Klemperer (1999) to show in a symmetric perfect Bayesian equilibrium all but one losers drop out instantaneously. However natives and immigrants can be hardly homogenous workers, at least in the beginning of the game. Hence we modify a model proposed by Alesina and Drazen (1991) to show how long agents resist according to individual costs, wage differentials and success beliefs. I also introduce in war wage discrimination to show the lower immigrants’ initial wage the shorter conflict length.
