In particular we present two reformulations of the problem, for which the neutral system is transformed into a ordinary differential equation coupled to an algebraic recursion. Hypotheses on the original equation allow to study contractivity and asympotoic stablility of the true solution and of the numerical schemes by the theory of stability with respect to a forcing term

Abstract
