It is shown that the increase of salt concentration in water-NaCl solutions changes considerably the phenomena connected with cavitation: erosion, sonoluminescence, subharmonic generation, capillary effect. The variations are attributed mostly to the change in the properties of the cavitation region, namely decrease of relative bubble volume and of the concentration of big bubbles, increase of the rate of bubble collapse and of the final energy density.

Abstract

It is shown that the increase of salt concentration in water-NaCl solutions changes considerably the phenomena connected with cavitation: erosion, sonoluminescence, subharmonic generation, capillary effect. The variations are attributed mostly to the change in the properties of the cavitation region, namely decrease of relative bubble volume and of the concentration of big bubbles, increase of the rate of bubble collapse and of the final energy density.
