I discuss some recent results about the amount and the distribution of dark matter in cluster of galaxies with a slant towards optical observations. All methods of analysis (using gravitational lensing, optical, and X-ray data) find that clusters contain a large amount of dark matter; previous discrepancies between estimates computed with different methods are going to be explained. There is a growing evidence in favor of dark matter distribution following galaxy distribution.

Abstract
I discuss some recent results about the amount and the distribution of dark matter in cluster of galaxies with a slant towards optical observations. All methods of analysis (using gravitational lensing, optical, and X-ray data) find that clusters contain a large amount of dark matter; previous discrepancies between estimates computed with different methods are going to be explained. There is a growing evidence in favor of dark matter distribution following galaxy distribution.File in questo prodotto:
