Ten patients (3 males and 7 females) were submitted to therapy with imipenem-cilastatin (2 g daily in 4 i.v. doses). Four infections were due to enterobacteria, 3 to P. aeruginosa, 2 to St. faecalis. In a patient with pneumonia a causal agent was not identified. The seat of infection in the remaining patients was urinary tract (5 cases); middle ear (2 cases); bone (1 case); 1 case was a sepsis. The outcome was favourable in 9 cases. One case with P. aeruginosa otitis media relapsed after a 5-day treatment had been prematurely stopped.
