Mentoring Comparative Lawyers: Methods, Times, and Places. Liber Discipulorum Mauro Bussani

This collective volume celebrates Mauro Bussani's works and intellectual legacy in the occasion of his sixtieth birthday. It does so from the perspective of some former students of his at the University of Trieste, where Prof. Bussani teaches since 2000. The idea underpinning the book has been to give justice to an oft-forgotten dimension of the job of a legal scholar and university professor, that of mentoring young people. Indeed, the contributors to the volume are young academics and professionals who were mentored by Mauro Bussani. We asked them to explain how the encounter with Bussani and with Comparative Law as taught by him has helped their own professional development. Additionally, but not incidentally, the contributions to the volume also offer some original insights into the practical value of comparative legal studies and the significance of good mentors in law, as well as in life.
