Every crisis, ultimately, is also a narrative crisis: in the situation we find ourselves in nowadays, finding others – so that they can also change the paradigms of what is desirable for us – is one of the most urgent and burning issues that we are called to face. For this, talking about our condition through the lenses of the "pyrocene" helps drawing attention to non-human living beings that are still overlooked in our architecture schools and universities’ agendas. This proposition, together with the questioning and re-thinking of the consolidated historical narrative, for which we are still tied to the events of Modern architecture – which has turned out to be one of the main causes that have led us to the current situation –, might be an attempt to focus attention on what – in my opinion – should urgently be discussed. All this, within an architectural practice and teaching whose ultimate aim is still imagining spaces, attempting, time after time, to build a better coexistence – this time, maybe even "more than human".
