The Index of Names compiles all individuals explicitly mentioned or clearly alluded to in Franz von Baader’s Lectures (1828–1836), as well as in the editorial reports and explanatory notes accompanying the critical edition. It includes authors, editors, and translators cited in bibliographical references while excluding personal names occurring solely within quoted titles. The index documents Baader’s vast intellectual network—ranging from biblical, patristic, scholastic, and mystical figures to Enlightenment philosophers, Romantic thinkers, and his nineteenth-century contemporaries—thereby illustrating the extraordinary breadth of his theological, philosophical, and literary sources. Italicized page numbers refer to entries in the editorial and bibliographical apparatus.
