In this work, the suitability of the newly invented biomimetic artificial barrier PermeapadTM for drug permeability tests has been investigated. PermeapadTM was adapted to standard diffusion chambers for drug permeability assay and permeability coefficients of selected compounds were measured. The barriers were found to be a promising tool for fast, cost effective and reliable screening of passive permeability of drugs and chemical entities
