By analyzing the celebrative epigram De Cynthio poeta and the Cynthii Cenetensis poetae Epitaphium, the essay demonstrates the good fortune and the high reputation enjoyed by the humanist Marco Antonio Amalteo amongst the Venetian-Friulian scholars of the time, with his knowledge of the authors not limited to the ancient canon of the classics, but extended to authors whose texts were still unprinted.
