After the Second World War there was a mass migration away from Italy to Canada, that involved my father too. Between 1954 and 1963 he lived in Quebec and Sasktchewan regions and he worked mainly as welder for a big company. Recently I had to exactly define his retirement plan, so I recorded where he worked. Starting from these data, I tried to define his “working path” in Canada using the on-line cartography and shared information like geo-referenced photos or videos (available on Panoramio or You Tube). In this way I could also visualize “what remains” of migration activities fifty years ago, like dams, a ghost town and quarters for immigrants.

Abstract
After the Second World War there was a mass migration away from Italy to Canada, that involved my father too. Between 1954 and 1963 he lived in Quebec and Sasktchewan regions and he worked mainly as welder for a big company. Recently I had to exactly define his retirement plan, so I recorded where he worked. Starting from these data, I tried to define his “working path” in Canada using the on-line cartography and shared information like geo-referenced photos or videos (available on Panoramio or You Tube). In this way I could also visualize “what remains” of migration activities fifty years ago, like dams, a ghost town and quarters for immigrants.Pubblicazioni consigliate
