The paper argues for a trend in modern Italian to borrow not only lexis, but also to reflect English textual and syntactic patterns in the register of economics. This influence is investigated in a corpus of economics articles with reference to explicitation, disambiguation and simplification, normalisation, strategies to avoid repletion and distribution of information in translating.
