The debate and plans on mobility in Venice clearly exposed the tension between the conservation of antiquity and the desire for modernisation, in a city originally constructed on a myth that has been opposing radical change since the Renaissance. This tension initially related to a cultural dimension and then shifted into all aspects of society, economy and administration, from options related to the infrastructure to the growth of tourism, which played a key role in the evolution of the morphology and character of the Venetian metropolitan area.

Abstract
The debate and plans on mobility in Venice clearly exposed the tension between the conservation of antiquity and the desire for modernisation, in a city originally constructed on a myth that has been opposing radical change since the Renaissance. This tension initially related to a cultural dimension and then shifted into all aspects of society, economy and administration, from options related to the infrastructure to the growth of tourism, which played a key role in the evolution of the morphology and character of the Venetian metropolitan area.File in questo prodotto:
