Trieste tra fragilità e cambiamento. Prospettive sulla città di giovani migranti

Partendo da una ricerca etnografica a Trieste con giovani arrivati come minori non accompagnati, il contributo riflette su come la loro prospettiva sulla vita urbana, spesso marginalizzata, contenga invece un potenziale positivo e trasformativo per la città. Questa prospettiva emerge da passeggiate etnografiche, in cui i partecipanti hanno guidato la ricercatrice attraverso i luoghi verso cui hanno un forte trasporto, negativo o positivo. La ricerca sul campo è inquadrata da un excursus sulla situazione di questa città di confine, all’estremità della cosiddetta “rotta balcanica”, da un’analisi sulle fragilità correlate alla condizione di migrazione nel contesto locale e su cosa significhi per i ragazzi “fare confine” nel quotidiano. Drawing on ethnographic research in Trieste with young people who arrived as unaccompanied minors, this contribution reflects on how their often-marginalised perspective on urban life in fact holds a positive and transformative potential for the city. This perspective emerges from ethnographic walks in which participants guided the researcher through the places towards which they feel a strong attachment, whether negative or positive. The fieldwork is introduced by an excursus on the situation of this border city, located at the end of the so-called “Balkan Route”, and by an analysis of the fragilities associated with the condition of migration in the local context, as well as of what “border-ing” means for these young people in their everyday lives.
