GRAFTING. Back to the future: the event as an agency of envisioning and anticipating the city of tomorrow

Grafting is the agronomic practice of combining different plant exemplars to propagate woody species. This contribution explores the relationship between cities and events through the lens of grafting, recognizing the city as the permanent base that supports the temporary, intangible nature of events. Just as botanical grafting enhances plant growth and resilience, urban grafting, unfolding at various rhythms and intensities, reveals a fascinating interdependency between temporary forces and the permanent urban structure they intermittently intersect.
