Abstract
The Governor’s Palace (1952–56), a project conceived by Le Corbusier for Chandigarh, was never built due to the high costs and the excessive symbolic value that the architect attributed to the building. The design underwent a long gestation, with several successive versions. The formal and compositional features were established with the first project (1952–54), among them the inclusion of water basins in front of the building to enhance its presence and monumentality, and to relate it to the other structures in the complex.Pubblicazioni consigliate
