This chapter reports on part of the initial stage of a project designed to sup- port first year students’ in becoming reflective writers within an undergraduate unit of study in an Education degree at an Australian university. Developing as a reflective writer is part of the developing from being a novice pre-service teacher to becoming a reflective educational practitioner, and understanding what is required in reflective writing within the discipline of Education is a nec- essary step within this process and it is this aspect of reflective writing which is the focus of this chapter.
