Specific retention volumes ( ) and fugacity coefficients at infinite dilution ( ) of alkanes, alkenes, aromatics, cycloalkanes, n-chloroalkanes, alcohols, ketones, nitriles and carbon dioxide on 4 stationary phases were determined by inverse gas chromatography (IGC). The stationary phases employed were -tocopherol, -tocopherol, -tocopherol and -tocopherol-acetate. The investigation was carried out at temperatures ranging from 333.15 to 413.15 K. These results have been used to characterize tocopherols in terms of dipolarity/polarizability, hydrogen-bond basicity/acidity and lipophilicity by means of the equation of solvation proposed by Abraham. The infinite dilution fugacity coefficients have been used for the prediction of the thermodynamic behavior of tocopherols in methanol and carbon dioxide at high pressure.
