Polydimethylsiloxanes (PDMS) are surfactants largely used in supercritical conditions for different applications. Polydimethylsiloxanes with relatively low molecular weight have been used; their solubility in supercritical carbon dioxide at different conditions has been determined. They can be successfully used for increasing the solubility of some drugs in supercritical carbon dioxide; moreover the use of PDMS for the production of controlled drug release products has been also evaluated.

Abstract
Polydimethylsiloxanes (PDMS) are surfactants largely used in supercritical conditions for different applications. Polydimethylsiloxanes with relatively low molecular weight have been used; their solubility in supercritical carbon dioxide at different conditions has been determined. They can be successfully used for increasing the solubility of some drugs in supercritical carbon dioxide; moreover the use of PDMS for the production of controlled drug release products has been also evaluated.File in questo prodotto:
