A sample of 2563 cases of liver cirrhosis diagnosed among 26879 autopsies performed consecutively in the years 1976/85 was considered in order to study the morfologic feature of the liver cirrhosis and their relationship with primary liver cancer (PLC) outbreak. The study showed that age of patients affected by cirrhosis is a significant rissk factor for PLC.
