The paper critically reconstructs the analysis of the logical structure of detached statements, developed by J. Raz, in the light of his externalist conception of reasons for action (sec. 1-2). The main objections to Raz's antireductionist approach are presented, trying to clarify their scope, efficacy, and dependency from an internalist conception (sec. 3). In the last part (sec. 4-5), on the basis of logico-linguistic considerations compatible with Razian conceptual frame, I show how the existence of detached statements results in some unavoidable contradictions affecting is theory of legal language.

Abstract
The paper critically reconstructs the analysis of the logical structure of detached statements, developed by J. Raz, in the light of his externalist conception of reasons for action (sec. 1-2). The main objections to Raz's antireductionist approach are presented, trying to clarify their scope, efficacy, and dependency from an internalist conception (sec. 3). In the last part (sec. 4-5), on the basis of logico-linguistic considerations compatible with Razian conceptual frame, I show how the existence of detached statements results in some unavoidable contradictions affecting is theory of legal language.File in questo prodotto:
