This paper reviews the new literature relating institutions and migration. We explore first the mechanisms which explain the link between institutions and migration. And there will be two objectives. First we focus on two recent works showing that migration may help to regulate civil conflicts and to implement good fiscal policies in the country of origin.Second, we focus on migration policies and characterize the one which is beneficial for both the origin and the destination countries.
