Abstract

The contribution focuses on the transformation of temples into fora of indigenous centres and of colonies into actual capitolia. Multiple solutions are found within the diverse cisalpine landscape. Therefore, it becomes interesting to define the dynamics that resulted in different solutions adopted on an urban and architectural plane. Such solutions produced in some cases actual overlapping between worship places, in other cases they produced a clear separation between them. A quick analysis of the multiple cisalpine centres shows how difficult it is to argue for a unified solution.
