This article addresses the topical issue of ‘water urbanism’ (Shannon et al., 2008; De Meulder, Shannon, 2013), focusing on the case of an urban sector of Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) where research by design experiences have been developed through collaboration between a number of universities. Conclusions outline some considerations for future research, design, and urban policies perspectives.
