(EN) This article focuses on the occasionalism youthwashing and aims to capture some features of critical discourses on sustainability rhetorics and corporate wording. Particular attention is payed to the questions of where this ad hoc compound draws its effect from and which social attitudes it reflects. Within an introductory discourse-semantic embedding, the expression is firstly considered in the light of the paradigm X-WASHING (greenwashing), with special attention to the context, meta-linguistic signals and recurrent argumentation patterns. Secondly, the axiological and deontic connotations of youthwashing are explored departing from the question of what the analysed paradigm says about the concepts of 'being young' and 'youth', On a theoretical level, the article attempts to interpret the discourse elements that can be subsumed under X-WASHING with regard to the characteristics of Problematisierungsdiskurse (Winkler 2021, Bereswill et al. 2021) and in the context of the meta-linguistic counterdiscourses on Simulative democracy (Blühdorn 2013). (IT) L’articolo focalizza l'occasionalismo youthwashing con l'obiettivo di cogliere alcune caratteristiche dei discorsi critici sulle retoriche della sostenibilità e sul corporate wording. Particolare attenzione è rivolta alle questioni da dove questo composto ad hoc tragga il suo effetto come elemento del discorso e quali atteggiamenti sociali rifletta. Da una prospettiva di semantica del discorso, l'espressione viene considerata alla luce del paradigma X-WASHING (ad es. greenwashing), con particolare attenzione al contesto, ai segnali meta-linguistici e ai modelli argomentativi ricorrenti. Inoltre, si affrontano le connotazioni assiologiche e deontiche dello youthwashing partendo dalla domanda che cosa il paradigma analizzato implichi relativamente ai concetti di "essere giovane" e "gioventù". A livello teorico, l'articolo tenta di interpretare gli elementi discorsivi che possono essere sussunti sotto X-WASHING in relazione alle caratteristiche dei Problematisierungsdiskurse (Winkler 2021, Bereswill et al. 2021) e nel contesto dei controdiscorsi meta-linguistici sulla Democrazia simulativa (Blühdorn 2013).
