Purpose of the study: Post-anoxic coma after cardiac arrest is an ethical problem. Our study deepen the prognostic value of the N20 amplitude in evoked somatosensory potentials (SSEP) at 37 °C, correlated to the value of neuronal specific enolase (NSE) and to the cardiac arrest presenting rhythms. Materials and methods: We tested the NSE value on the 1stand 2ndday recording the SSEP at 32 °C and at normothermia, studying the N20 amplitude as expression of the residual neuronal population. We focused the in-depth examination on the ACR presenting rhythms, having extended the application of the protocol to all presenting rhythms.
