Recognising the Adriatic coastal environment as a climate change hotspot is the first step to start thinking a new ecological project of beaches. Actually, Adriatic beaches are considered more as an urbanised area and part of the urban system and less as a provider of ecosystemic services for the mitigation and adaptation of the vast coastal conurbation to the climate change risks. The paper investigates about the possible relationships between the plan of vulnerability of a territorial transect, the nature-based treatment of beaches for impact zero uses, the development of green tourism and the deseasonalisation in tourism, as an interrelated different dimensions of a new ecological approach project for the Adriatic coastal beaches and cities. In order to achieve this aim, the paper investigates three case studies.
