Abstract
Compared to other German libraries, the Saxon State and University Library Dresden holds a significant collection of Italian manuscripts. In many ways, these documents arc evidence of the Saxon court's strong interest in Italian culture and language, especially between the 17th and 18th centuries. In giving an account of an ongoing research project that aims to digitise and catalog this fund, this essay also describes the manuscript corpus' thematic areas. In doing so it briefly reconstructs the history behind the collection and throws some light on the Saxon court's interests in alchemical practice.File in questo prodotto:
