The development of the Internet and smartphones has led to a real digital transformation also of the technologies used in mobility, which are now increasingly oriented towards reducing environmental impacts and enhancing the accessibility of transport. In fact, there is a shift from an ‘individual’ mobility model to one based on the principle of ‘shared service’. In the new user-centric mobility paradigm, not only users, but also companies operating in the digital economy could benefit greatly from the new perspectives offered by the innovation of location-based and travel-on-demand services and the consequent integration of all mobility services.
