Abstract

Widely known as a novelist and playwright, Luigi Pirandello is also the author of essays on literature, particularly on the theater of his time. In our Study that from types of paratexts, we will renect the insights they bring to translation. First, we will focus on the theoretical reflections and argumentative Strategies employed by the author in Illustratori, attori e traduttori (1908) to highlight the effects, essentially negative, of translating dramatic Theo, through a diachronic approach (1923—2012), we will consider the place given to the préface (1925) of Sei personaggi in cerca d'autore in the main French translations of the play and the terms used to designate translation.
