This study investigates the presence of lexical terms of Italian origin in the Diccionario de la Lengua de la Argentina (DiLA), a differential lexicographical work that exclusively records the words and meanings of the local variety. These are Italianisms which, originating mainly from Italian immigration to Latin America in the 19th and 20th centuries, began to make up in different ways the common speech of Argentines, especially the inhabitants of Buenos Aires. Their study takes on new importance today in the light of the continuous exchanges between Argentina and Italy, which have continued to influence Argentinean Spanish throughout the last century until the post-modern era, in which social networks, the media and renewed socio-cultural, economic-political and tourist contacts also play a central role in the maintenance and adoption of new terms. Finally, to complete the work, the entries marked as Italianisms in DiLA are compared with the lexical borrowings already collected in the studies by Meo Zilio (1970) and Cancellier (1996), in order to verify the presence and use of neo-Italianisms not detected in those studies.

Abstract
Finally, to complete the work, the entries marked as Italianisms in DiLA are compared with the lexical borrowings already collected in the studies by Meo Zilio (1970) and Cancellier (1996), in order to verify the presence and use of neo-Italianisms not detected in those studies.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
